A DIVERSE AND CONNECTED WORLD
|
|
Learning goal: To research and compare two of the worlds main religions, and their impact on people.
I will have succeeded if I have been able to research, compare and present information on two of the worlds major religions, including information such as
- the symbols that represent the two religions
- the geographical origin of the two religions as well as identifying, geographically, where the religion is most practiced today
- the number of people in Australia and world-wide that practice the religion
- the main beliefs, rituals and traditions of both religions, discussing how they are similar and/or different
- How do places, people and cultures differ across the world?
- explains interactions and connections between people, places and environments
- I have correctly referenced the sources of the information in my work
* Students will need to formulate their own set of questions in order to research the topic.
** Projects should contain at least one map showing the distribution of each religion world wide.

BE A POWER SEARCHER
- When researching online it is important to be as specific as you can. For example typing only 'islam' will give you over 1 billion hits!
- However, by typing 'islam kids' you now only (!) get 161 million hits. Still a lot, but better.
- Being even more specific and typing 'islam facts kids' brings down the number of hits down to
- When searching online, leave out words such as 'the', 'for', 'of', 'and'. They are unnecessary and will increase the number of unnecessary hits.
